In Seattle, WA, we went for this awesome ride.
It starts with a 2+ mile bike ride through an old train tunnel. Then it's 20 miles down hill to a lake. The tunnel was fun and I liked it a lot better this time since I actually had a bright headlight. The last trip, someone from a different family ended up following me the whole way through the tunnel and shining the way for me. This time, I was in front (since my dog thought he could pull me on the bike and always wants to be in front). The bike ride was fun for me - but my friends are on road bikes so they were a lot more sore than I was.
We only ended up going 16 miles. I feel bad, I don't think they enjoyed it as much as I thought they would. My roommate was especially sore - she hasn't been on a bike in years - except for a practice ride we did a few weeks before this one. I don't know that she's very happy with me after that trip. Aside from that, I let Charlie off leash most of the way down. He was still running when we got to the end. Although, for the last 4 miles of it, if we stopped, he laid down. If he was on leash, he wasn't trying to pull me any more. He definitely slept the rest of the day.
After our bikeride, we went into Seattle. Have you heard of Ivar's? If you like seafood, then I think Ivar's is pretty good. I really like their smoked salmon chowder. If you don't like seafood, the only thing they have is fried chicken strips. They aren't that great because it's not their specialty. After dinner, we just walked along the sound and into some curiousity shops. We were all pretty tired so we ended up leaving the city and driving back to my sister's house.
Sunday, we made breakfast and then drove down to Snoqualmie falls before we headed back. We stopped in Takoma for church but only ended up staying for the first hour. We were all pretty tired. I was thinking of taking a nap during one of the classes when I found out the other driver was going to do the same. If that was the case, then we all might as well just head home. I'm so glad we did. By the time I dropped people off and bikes off - it was 7 pm.
Doesn't sound late but it'd been a long weekend. I think it was fun and i think for the most part everyone had fun. I do feel bad about the bike situation.
I think they'll forgive me.
Maybe.
