JFK - not my favorite airport

I'm writing you from the JFK airport. yesterday was a crazy day and it feels like it was a week long! I started the day by waking up at 7:30 - lazying around until 8:30 when all of a sudden.... i remembered that I had promised my brother I would drive him to the airport at 4 AM that morning. Well.... i missed that one! I felt so bad. Then I found out that my sister-in-law went to a movie with my brother, got home at 1, woke up at 3 because my brother was packing - and then she had to drive him to the airport since I didn't show up. I owe them big time!

Even though my job would pay for me to park at the airport, they often drive me and pick me up. It's been really nice. I drove myself to the airport last night.

My friends and I went to a small beach south of Cannon Beach. I let my dog off lead and let him run ot the sand. I was still walking down the steps - when all of a sudden - Charlie, my dog, grabbed an injured seagul. He was so proud of himself. Well, i took off running after my dog telling him to "leave it" and yelling "no". I ended up getting soaked because I was running in and out of the water after him. I finally caught him, put his leash back on, but then the collar slipped off of him and he was after the bird again. I'm sad to say, I'm not sure the bird made it. I know he floated away on the ocean but I think Charlie helped injure it's wing even worse than it had been before he caught it. It was pretty crazy.

Usually, i just run around on the beach with my dog so he wasn't very happy to get chained to a log. He decided to dig a hole to China on both sides of the log. It was pretty funny. He's not usually a digger.

Last night, i got to the airport and asked the guy to change me from a middle seat - of course he told me to ask at the gate. When I got to the gate, i asked the gate agent if he could help me with the impossible... i got a seat on the back row but it was an aisle! I prefer windows for red-eyes but anything is better than a middle seat.

So backing up a little bit - I had a run-in with TSA last night. I've never had a problem before. I had decided not to check my bags but forgot that I had put some things in my bag that were too big/liquids. So, someone had to check through my bag for any liquids. I was very apologetic (I think) but the woman started telling me that if I was upset, she could go get her supervisor. I finally stepped back a few steps and said nothing. I had people around me kind of laughing at how upset she was getting with me - when i don't think i was instigating it. I've never had someone so upset with me like that. To be fair, i had a box with my makeup in my bag. Of all days, the right-side up was actually the bottom of the box. I did try to stop her from turning it, but she didn't listen. She kept telling me that "i'll turn it back when I put it back in your bag" - well, it's kinda funny because the makeup is powders and she'd already done the damage of turning them upside down.

Another incident is she found some jars in my bag and held them up proudly - as if to say "Ha! i knew you were lying"... well, I had to tell her to look again because they were dry ingredients - bath salts. As far as I know TSA doens't have anything against bath salts.

Not a big deal. I am just glad I made it through TSA! So, after I get my seat change, I still had about 45 minutes before my flight left. I sat down and took a nap. Someone woke me up when almost everyone had boarded the plane.
